Will a CV boot with a cable tie pass NCT?

Car failed the nct for a loose CV boot today, it's only a visual retest so I count it as a pass

Can I use a zip tie on the boot or does it have to be the proper metal clamp. I have used zip ties before but I want to check that the NCT rules haven't changed, apperantly in the UK you aren't allowed zip ties anymore.

If you think a cable tie will sort it to cheat a test then rock on or pay up and get it repaired.

Yes, as long as there is no leakage. No promises :)

What are you on about cheating a test?

Do you even know what a CV boot is.. you clown. I've never paid to ever have a vehicle repaired, I do it myself so why would I pay anyone. I just don't fancy using a metal tie unless I need to.
