    Hi

Have a tolltag from tolltag.ie and a 171 BMW with the Climate comfort screen (infrared protection film). Can't get the tag to work in any position on the screen, even the positions that are detailed in the car's manual. Anyone else experience this issue.

No experience of it but is there any chance it'll work on the rear screen?

I know eFlow advise that it be placed directly behind the windscreen (often there's a shaded/dotted area there). That area usually isn't covered with the protective film I think.

The manual actually shows a picture of the area to place toll tags, door openers etc. But still doesn't work. I was at the dealer and they were none the wiser but when I looked at a few cars they had in some had the shaded/dotted area and some didn't.

I'm wondering if Ezpass has a "stronger" tag than tolltag.ie

Maybe request a replacement tag on the offchance there's just an issue with the tag/battery? If that's something they can do.

That could be simply tested by holding it out the window at the toll.

Yep, works when held outside the car.

Crazy idea but could you tape or tie it to a wiper stalk on outside of window?
Make sure its the right way around, as in the writing part facing in, and the bit with no writing facing the tag readers on the overhead pillars. These tags are sealed and waterproof I think, but there might be a home to key beep out so you might need to waterproof it. It might also work on front bumper etc.

I know on the m50 the car registration us read as a backup and if your tag does not work, they use the reg and charge the tag account anyway.
