Carbon Road Tubeless Clincher Wheelset

I picked these wheels up on adverts about 9 months ago and I've put about 60km on them.....

They came with tyres which appeared to have damaged sidewalls and little thread (vitoria corsa which the seller just put those tires on for sale).

I paid 280 euro for them and immediately dumped the tyres and put a set of pirelli p zero 25mm on. These tyres have done approx 60km, see the little bobble things still on them. The tyres cost me 110 quid in local bike shop, presume they are cheaper online.

The tyres are regular, folding clincher tyres with tubes. So the wheels are tubeless ready, but do not have tubeless tyres at the moment.

I have the yellow brake pads.

    Cassette is not included.

I'm asking 300 which I think is fair.

Description taken from the add I bought from :

    Carbon Road Tubeless Clincher Wheelset.
Hope RS4 28 Hole Red Alloy 11Spd Freehub Hubs
Yishun Carbon 24mm Depth, 23mm Width, 28 Hole Tubeless Rims.

Rear Rim is brand new as was replaced after a crash and has seen a handful of spins.
Hubs both perfect, small pitting on freehub as expected with alloy freehubs.
Both wheels in perfect condition, spinning true and tensioned accordingly.

    Both taped for tubeless

    Hi

I'm in Dublin, reasonably central to city.

I have a spacer and 10 speed cassette on them at the moment, I don't actually have an 11 speed shimano cassette as don't have any such bike.

Should have said in the first place that i have the yellow brake pads to go with these

I have edited the original add to point out re brake pads but more importantly to state that the tyres are normal, folding clincher tyres. They are not tubeless. Coming back to the add after posting it I hope it wasn't misleading, it hasn't occurred to me to say it but add is for tubeless wheels so I want to be clear tyres are not tubeless.

    Would you post these (Kilkenny)?

To be honest I'd prefer not to but I'd consider it.

I'd have to source boxes, protective packaging etc and then cost to post?

Do you have any experience of posting wheels, I don't but as I say I'd consider it if its not a huge burden

Definitely don’t need but tempting, even have bianchi for matching the tyres!

    Reasonably close to town.

I also have a bianchi but not on shimano!

Might be too far from me for viewing given current restrictions. I’m in Dun Laoghaire

I will offer asking plus postage costs.
I understand that this may be extra work for seller
Have 2 Bianchi ( Specilissema and infinito) bikes so these will be perfect

Can I ask what weight they are? Interested in something lighter than my current ones for when the hills are allowed again. Can provisionnaly offer asking if they are what I'm looking for

Good question, leave it with me.

They are 28 spokes though so not going to be the lightest, suspect a light wheelset would be 16/20?

Just to say I'm grateful to doc man for the offer and would obviously like to accept but just quickly researching how easy it is to post tyres, I'll have to go to a shop and source boxes and packaging material etc... I will visit local bike shop tomorrow morning and see if they have any boxes etc and suss out postage.

Re weight, this is not scientific, but a quick check on a baking weighing scales suggests
    Rear. 1145
    Front. 965

Google tells me the 25c tyres on there are 210gm
    Skewers are likely 100gm each,
    Tubes??
Tubeless tabe which is not in use??

Read wheel has ultegra 10 speed cassette on and spacer (Google says 208gm)

Does that give a general idea?

I'm happy to take skewers and cassette of later and weigh again but reluctant to take tyres and tubes off, sorry not much time on hand right now but will give more time to weighing later if required?

Edit tyres are fully inflated if air weighs anything!

Edit again, the 4 brake pads are strapped to one of the wheels and included in that weight, can't remember which wheel but assuming cassette weight is accurate might be front which would make some sense

Think we are within legal range of each other if we meet in the middle. Offer asking pending inspection this weekend.

    Will PM to arrange

I posted wheels recently, it's easy. I'm in D8 and have boxes and bubble wrap coming out my ears that would be perfect after a load of motorbike fairing was delivered, you're welcome to it if ot helps

I think I'd also stick to my provisional offer asking based on that weight info.

Fair enough, I had missed this.
Next in line if falls through

    Hi all,

What are the "rules" or correct behaviour from me here?

I don't want to be an ass. DocMan has kindly offered the full amount but I'm reluctant to post them unseen in case there's an issue and I would prefer not to deal with the postage and packaging.

Is it acceptable to do a local deal if that can be arranged?

MOD VOICE: I went through the posts, from what I can see, Weepsie offered asking first. Admittedly pending inspection but that is normal as we can all refuse or change our minds before it is handed over. The Doc Man is second in line, like it or not, he has offered to cover full postage. Now he can turn it down if postage if too much for his liking but at this point he is second in line with alanbt in 3rd, making the same offer as Weepsie. Please correct me via PM if I am wrong.

    Thanks.

Weepsie offer therefore accepted, subject to inspection and checking weight.

I have shipped wheels many times. Very safe if you have a standard wheel box (any bike shop should have one as as new wheels come in them).

GLS will collect the box from your door and post anywhere in Ireland for 21.50 (collected rate).
