I am not buying but was just browsing and came across this. I know its on the same platform as the Nissan X-Trail but what are the opinions on this?

    Good or Bad?

They seem to be very cheap for a 1-2 year old model.

They seem to depreciate like a stone dropped from the top of a building.
I'd say they just haven't proved popular and are not desirable but if you like them there's value there.

Would be top of Renaults line in terms of that category but as such commanded the top of the line pricing. Which many are not willing to spend for the badge. I think there is great value in 3 year old one. Expect some depreciation as with anything but theres a huge amount in the vehicle. Size comfort and tbh reliability too.

Wouldnt spend over 25K on one personally.

Seem a bit underpowered for the size of them, especially the 130 hp engine.

I think a big issue for the Koleos was the lack of 7 seats, which other similarly priced rivals, 5008, Kodiak and the X-Trail all had the option of.

I was looking at autotrader Oz and there is a few there and as was pointed out the lack of 7 seats would not interest some but they run a standard 2.5 petrol there. The top line model cost around $40k which is about €26k.

Renault never did it for me but if you wanted something newish and bigish I thought that would tick the boxes.

It's a big classy car. It was a Shame Renault never done a 7seater version they did say they were looking into it but must have decided against it.
They are popular around where I am in Offaly. Always see plenty of them about. They look lovely in blue.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I see the top spec one here is 46k. Thats a chunk of change for a car that will drop like a stone over 2 years.

Buy a 2-3 year old one and let some other sucker take the hit.
Buying anything new is frankly bonkers unless you plan on keeping it for a long time.

It'll be valuable if you actually follow it.

Genuinely I am confused by your insistance on derailing a thread with an issue that has nothing to do with anything. Some people buy new, some don't but there's no need to be a dick about it.:confused:

Theres no need to call me a dick either, advice was in good faith, the last reply was only because of you clearly being sarcastic.
Nothing I've post in this thread in any way derails it, its all relevant to the original post.
Now if you'd like to call me a dick again....

The advice was anything but in good faith so need to pull the high and almighty card now. Too late for that.

There is always one, like yourself that has to ruin a thread with the "oh don't buy new, let some other sucker take the hit". That added nothing to looking for opinions on the car and its value.

Bitter and angry, working from home getting to you is it?

    Wow, are you ok?
It was in good faith, if you dont want to accept that, thats your problem. But you dont get to decide if I was posting in good faith or not.
Dont be projecting your own issues onto me.
Bit of a keyboard warrior eh? Tough guy!

Look man if you want to go around in circles on this you can, thats fine. Work away, whatever you need to do to get your aggression out.

Or maybe you could just return to the bangers thread because you just have a hatred for anyone having a new car.

Yeh I'm a keyboard warrior, got nothing better to do that call out people who are being a d..... oh wait, I dont want you really angry!

You dont make me angry, dont flatter yourself.
Would you like me to post my replies in this thread in a nice easy to read format that even you can understand?
There is nothing I've posted here that is in any way angry, or not relevant to the koleos and your original point in the first post, about how cheap they are at 1-2 years old.
As I said, stop projecting your own issues onto me.
Now I kindly ask you to stop throwing abuse at me, or lets take it offline.
