Loch of the Lowes Ospreys 2021

Just like clockwork, the resident male LM12 (his tenth year at the Loch nest site) turned up on the 21st March - exact same date as last year so he must have caught the same flight from Africa!

Fingers crossed for a more successful outcome this year as the nest was abandoned in 2020 before any 'developments'. Last year's new partner, NCO ( born in the Loch Ness area in 2016) has yet to arrive.

And good news, the resident female, NC0, arrived back at the Loch today and the romance is rekindled for a second season

Broody female on the nest a few minutes ago. Fingers crossed for some developments in the next day or so.

Yesterday saw an unwelcome visitor - an unidentified female (nearest camera) put in an appearance. There was no hostility shown and the resident male didn't seem to object to being so popular!
