Best Headphones for watching tv while on a Treadmill

Hey everyone, since lockdown instead of going outdoors I’ve been exercising at home on the treadmill, just walking watching tv and I’m wondering what is the best headphones I could buy as I hate having my tv loud and don’t want to upset the neighbours or my family in the house with loud noises.

I was looking at Sony WH-1000XM4 are these good for tv & movies?

Wireless I’m thinking of going for sony wh-1000xm4 as there only €294 on Amazon Germany? I just want to know if the sound is good for tv shows and movies. I can’t find anything on google in reviews.

I have the XM3s, sound is grand but unless you really need/want noise cancelling I wouldn't bother with them. Some people on Reddit have complained about lag watching movies/TV with the XM4s.

I don't think the XM4s are worth €100 more than the XM3s either, you can sometimes pick them up close to €200

Another option would be the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless, noise cancelling wouldn't be as good but they have aptx Low Latency so you shouldn't get any lag watching Films/TV Shows

So the XM4 will lag with audio on my tv? What about XM3? For just my tv?

I think I found the best headphones for tv sony wh-l600 or Bose QuietComfort 35 II I don’t know what to pick

I got the Sony XM4's when there was a BA a few months ago, and they're one of my favourite pieces of tech ever. I never noticed any lag when watching via bluetooth on the fire cube, or when watching youtube on my laptop, and I'm someone who wouldn't put up with bad lag! I used them for studying and with 2 very young kids in the house it was a Godsend. They should serve you well by blocking out much of the sound from the treadmill. A couple of weeks ago a cup of tea got spilled over them and ruined them, I'd never been more gutted over destroyed tech before! After seeing the post above I've just bought a new pair off Amazon.de, its a great price.

When they arrive you couldn’t test them on your tv for me for lag lol

What colour didn’t you get in the end?

I know you specifically mentioned "headphones", but have you considered earphones?

The Jabra 75t Active are wireless, light, fit nice and tight, and are very waterproof/sweatproof.

Unfortunately I can't comment on latency as I use them for music rather than video - perhaps somebody else can comment.

I would get the XM3 but don’t have aptx support for tv’s and without it tv picture and audio episodes be out of sync

If I bought them Bose headphones they won’t have sync issues with audio and picture?

I cant answer that for definite, it might depend on how good the Bluetooth is on your TV. The XM3 do support aptx just not aptx low latency

Amazon are great with returns though, so if you do buy them and they don't suit you shouldn't have any problem at all sending them back.

I got the white as they were €50 cheaper, arrived yesterday. Tested on TV and laptop, no audio delay that I could perceive, and I was 4-5 metres away from the TV. But as the other poster said, that could vary depending on the TV or Bluetooth chip used.

Sennheiser Momentum 3 have the aptx latency codec... Up to you whether they are suitable for excersise as they are a bit premium as opposed to sporty... Maybe some of the other Sennheiser models have it too...
