Does anyone know somewhere I could get MDF strips? I'm looking for strips that ideally are about 8ft long and approx 1.5inches wide. Depth isnt too important so long as its less than an inch. So far all I can find is MDF sheets and if possible I'd prefer to get pre cut strips.

B&q will do cuts for you, buy the sheet of mdf and they charges small fee for each cut.

B&Q told me they'd only do 3 or 4 cuts in the sheet, but they wont be able to cut it into 1.5inch strips.

Try asking if anyone here will do it for you - where are you?

There must be a limit on the machine they use for cutting, I used them a few years ago to cut new door jambs but the strips were 4" wide and they done 6 strips.

Would lengths of timber moulding or beading not do a job for you.

Have you tried Woodcut in Liosban? Tom (I think that's his name) will cut the strips for you. Generally very reasonably priced as well.
