Looking for something that is easy to apply by brush (had a bad experience with ceramic matt !!!)

Local stockists do Fleetwood & Dulux mainly

Thinking of the Easyclean/Easycare or Dedicated Bathroom options off the shelf

Or, if colour unavailable, having it mixed in Dulux Vinyl Soft Sheen

Undercoat already done and is Dulux Total Cover Matt White

    Any advice appreciated !

Guinness is a bit dark so I'd go for a light beer of your choosing.

Can't wait for the restrictions to be lifted enough to go out for a few paints !!!

Zinsser perma White is very good

I would 2nd perma white, excellent product. Used on my bathroom ceiling 4 years ago, mould constantly reappearing after painting with standard dulux paints, absolutely no mould reappeared since using perma white. Still looks brand new a few years later, pricey enough paint but well worth the money

Thanks for the recommendation, undercoat is already done.

Tried Ceramic Matt (Colour) but the first brush stroke was getting ripped off again if the brush touched it on subsequent strokes within a minute or so.

I've now opted for a locally mixed Easyclean from Fleetwood.

That Easyclean won't last pissing time in a bathroom with a shower.

Hopefully I get away with it, there's just a bath and room is well ventilated.

What should I look out for? peeling, cracking, blistering, mould?

Suggest off the shelf bathroom option. Goes on reasonably but the easy care kitchen & bathroom option beads like mercury 🥵 not easy to apply!
If you are doing a white ceiling use exterior masonry paint - it has anti fungal which discourages mold/mildew. I've use that for my bathrrom ceiling for years and in conjunction with the house rule of opening the window after showering has kept ceiling pristine (even teenagers showers!). Maybe they can even mix your colour in that masonry paint for your wall? It is easy to apply and as it designed for outdoors pretty resilient. Good luck!

    Thanks for the headsup !

Yep, tried a test area, and sure enough it took on a nettle rash texture that couldn't be smoothened over because it had already developed a skin and ripped off when brushed again.

Update: tried another test over years old vinyl silk in a different room and it gave no problems at all so now I'm going to leave the undercoat to cure for a week or so, and then apply PVA (5 water to 1 PVA) and try again with the EasyClean.

Problem seems to have been that the undercoat was reacting to the moisture it pulled from the topcoat.
