I can change a tyre on my car but the part I always struggle with is aligning the studs on the hub to the holes in the wheel. I know theory of aligning the wheel to the studs before lifting it but I still struggle to get the wheel onto the studs.

I've seen that you can get guides for fitting wheels on hubs that use bolts but can't find any for hubs that use nuts, does such a tool exist?

I just turn the hub so one spoke is a 12 o'clock, then I hold the wheel with one hole at 12 o'clock. It works for me.

I thought every car came with a hole alignment tool with it . I know VAG cars do.

There's usually a little extruded cylinder in the centre of the hub, which you can place the wheel onto. I just then keep a bit of inward pressure so it doesn't fall off, and rotate the wheel until it lines up.

I try to used my foot to lift the wheel a little from the bottom to leave both arms free. Below would be helpful too.

As I said I know the theory but the fecking wheel never sits correctly when I do it but after a few goes it does, I'm trying to skip the few goes. I'd say it's the design of the wheel because I've worked on cars for years and never had issues putting the wheel back on before.

That's for cars with bolts to secure the wheels my car has nuts.
