Question about dogs homes

    Hey everyone,

I was wondering do dogs homes have internal rules about volunteers/staff adopting dogs? Like, can they call dibs on a dog? Or is there a time line like say the dog has to be advertised for 3 weeks (for example) and if the dog is still there at the end of the period, someone in the rescue centre can take the dog? Or can they just adopt the dog themselves immediately?

    Thanks!

I'm sure they have their own rules independent of each other but my sister took a dog that had been just brought in and kept it, she was volunteering there for a summer. I won't name the particular rescue centre.
