    Thurles
    2.50
Blast of Koeman 16/1 ew 3 places
I think the favourite will struggle with the mix of weight and ground.
Commander of the fleet hasn't done much since Cheltenham last year.
Jett is returning from chasing. When I placed the bet it was showing as soft and that was a consideration for looking at Blast of Koeman who I thought had more exposure, a little bit of outside potential on said ground.

Exit Eleven 100/1 ew 3 places
This is a real roll of the dice, but I think the trip and ground might give it a chance. I probably should have looked for 4 places, though (not that it'll matter in the end. I felt the 40/1 odds the bookies started them at was fairer, so had to take 100/1.)

    3.25
Mister Butler 6/1 ew 4 places
Again, it looked like softer ground to me. Mister Butler has been backed from 12/1 to 6/1. No jockey showing for them, but I think the ground and longer trip, along with a (second time) return to hurdles might give an older horse a chance to shine. I liked Trickey Trix too, but I think the heavy weight they're carring will play.

    4.00
    Zarkareva 11/2
The short priced favourite I don't like. They look like they have potential but some of the horses they've raced again have been shown up this week.
I feel like DBH is building something Zarkareva and will be using this to see where they lie. Apart from that I like Montagne D'argent at 16/1, but not enough to risk more of my account, especially with only two places paid.

    4.35
Great Kahn 10/1 ew 4 places
Another older horse. I think the increase in distance will help it. And I thought the softer ground would as well. I took an extra place for a bit of security.

    5.10
Elusive Star 33/1 ew 3 places
I think it "managed" the heavier ground it was run on before, but wasn't able to show it's speed. Long odds are probably fair, but I feel it has a chance with places even if it was exposed by better horses in other races (despite being short odds) I think it'll be nearabouts to a place. Myth Buster is the horse to beat, for me. And Lord Schintzel might upset. Top Moon is too short, and Cuneo doesn't look right for me.

Pay absolute no attention to me. I blaze my own trail, and like getting a bet in each race. I am nowhere near a smart punter and just like excitement while trying to sound smart.

    3.25
Trickey Trix 13/2 ew 4 places after Mister Butler withdrew.

The ground seems to have gone, at least on what's showing on the guides, from soft, to soft to yielding, to yielding in a matter of six hours. Shows me I'm useless.

3.00 Uttoxeter WILDE ABOUT OSCAR. Won a novice hurdle race when last seen at Exeter, having The Glancing Queen and Oscar Elite in behind, both have ran well at Cheltenham this week. Soft ground wont be an issue here. Should win this.

3.35 Uttoxeter ACHILLE 25/1.. His last two runs at Haydock and Warwick where he was staying on well at the finish makes it look like the bigger test of stamina today will be ideal for Venetia Williams charge. Ground conditions will suit and it's hard to see him our of the first five.

Coo Star Sivola 16/1 5 places ticks a lot of trend boxes. Gives the impression he'll last home and only 10-7 on his back.

JJ Codd booked to ride a half sister to Big Bucks in the Bumper at Thurles. It was a Reserve and got in when Foster withdrew another horse. 4/1 into 11/4.

10/3 into 9/5 gamble lands. Will take that.

The Irish horse in the Midlands for me. Second to The Big Dog looks decent. EW Skybet , 7 places.

I thought Zerkareva ran a great race, jumped really well apart from the last when there was pressure from another horse. Really had to be managed by the jockey as they were pulling the whole way. A few years under the belt, with a bit of stamina built and a bit of relaxing and they could be handy.

With Great Kahn Blackmore shows she's fallible. A great run around the course, always in a prime position, keeps him ahead with two jumps to go, gaining speed with one jump to go, and she tries to get him to pop over the fence a little early, or at least the horse is in two minds about how far out he is. He nearly goes down at the fence, but Blackmore shows she'll give everything, somehow manages to stay on the horse, and finishes with no reins but on top of the horse, losing first but earning me a place I feared I wouldn't have (would have loved the win, though.)

It's definitely a race worth watching. The Thurles 4.35. Great Kahn. A very physically strong/slightly wild horse that should put to bed most questions about female jockeys' strength.

Zarkareva is worth watching in the Thurles 4.00 to see some sweet jumping, and a horse that could have real chasing potential from HDB.

I saw the 1.20, 1.55 and 4.15 from Wexford. I think Henry Box Brown is worth watching in the first (jockey said the owner will be looking to sell for decent money after that win,) nobody stood out for me in the 1.55 and the 4.15 was a good win for the favourite, but I can't see Eyre Square doing much in big races. I also quite liked Bredel in the 1.20 because it looked like an eager foal compared to the rest. It might not make it in racing unless it has a lot of development, but he was an absolute charmer.
