    Hi ,Looking for some help
Have Digiweb 1gb installed in the front room of 4 bed semi d house
When I use the 2.4ghz network I get speed of maybe 70mb /80mb but when I use 5ghz I'm getting speeds of 500mb
Can anybody help me as to how I can possibly improve the 2.4ghz speed
Also I can't move the router as its stuck in the sitting room for the moment(wife)I have Deco M5 in the hallway and upstairs and clocking 300mb .Great speed but hoping I could get bit faster

    Any help be great ðŸ‘

If you want to go that much faster, you'll need to use ethernet cables.

Every device you get off wireless leaves more bandwidth for what's left, so a bit of effort with non moving devices like TVs and consoles gives you payback for your mobile devices.

What are you checking your speed with that is reporting 500Mbit and 300Mb?
That is more than enough for an individual device running multiple 4k video streams.

Do you have a Deco M5 plugged in to the router or just the two in the hall and upstairs?

I have one plugged directly into the router ,one plugged in the hall and one in the bedroom upstairs
I used my laptop wired using the 2.4ghz and got 80 mb and I used WiFi on the 5ghz and got 500mb

Just can't understand why the 2.4 is so poor
Very happy that I can get 200/300 speeds all over the house with the deco just hoped I could get more

I'm a little confused here - you say you used the laptop "wired using the 2.4GHz" - wired may be topping out at a percentage of 100Mb since that's the top speed of many ethernet ports.

2.4GHz wifi punches through more walls but has less capacity than 5GHz wifi.
I doubt you'd see the 500Mb in other rooms in the house on 5GHz, but you'll still see a good bit of your 2.4GHz speed.
2.4GHz is never going to deliver much more than 150Mbit even in the same room. It's the extra distance that makes it worth having around.

If you were able to run cable to where the other Deco units are you may get better speed out of them.
At the moment they're using bandwidth to connect to your laptop, but also to connect wirelessly back to the unit that's plugged in to the router.

Have you tried the laptop plugged into the LAN port on one of the Deco M5s?

You've bought a ferrari and are now complaining the speed limit on the motorway is still 120Kph. If a laptop is your primary device just downgrade package with your ISP.

I'm not complaining. After two years on mobile broadband I'm more than grateful I'm.asking does it sound right and if not is their things I can move or change setting to improve it

If you have nothing to contribute then plenty of other threads to throw snarky comments at

2.4ghz is designed to go longer distance and through walls. 5ghz is a wider band, more channels but can't penetrate walls. If you want 5ghz in each room you'll need more access points to get a full 5ghz mesh.

You can also try lowering the channel of your 5ghz to get a bit more penetration. Use WiFi Analyzer to tell you which channels are free.
