Mobile Broadband - Low Low cost..

    Currently on a 20 euro per month Eir package, 100GB data.
    Only actually use this in an office for very limited work (-3GB) and monitoring CCTV.

    Want to reduce down to below 10 euro ideally, Can i use a package from Lycamobile or 48 with a Huawei B525s i wonder?

    Anyone any suggestions.

    Some company's dont allow this type of usage, is anyone able to confirm if Lyca / 48 can be used for mobile broadband?

    It should work as long as the APN is set correctly.

    Vodafone sell a PAYG add on of 5GB for 5e / 28 days which AFAIK is the cheapest rate of all the networks for low usage.


    If the SIM router is used as a gateway for CCTV, there may be a problem accessing camera footage directly. A public IP address is usually needed for such applications but networks normally don't assign them to PAYG phone SIMs.

    I use 48 as a mobile hotspot at a holiday property and it has worked well.

    Mainly for watching Netflix. No problems encountered

    I've been using one of the GoMo €9.99 SIMs for well over a year in a 4G router, all working grand. I tried a 48 SIM as well when they launched but it was too inconsistent, sometimes way faster than GoMo but when it was slow, it was like a dial up modem! YMMV depending on your location of course.
