I have a customer interested in a PB Simmental springer about 2 weeks off calving but the drawback is that calf's sire is unregistered as he had a Hernia as a baby calf and vet advised not to keep as bull but he turned out a lovely animal, So we retained him to clean up after AI. The springer is a KF Dellboy 2nd calver and had a very good Seafort Gill bull last year which I am also selling. what would be the procedure of registering this years calf if springer is sold.

    Thanks

Do you still have the sire? AFAIK you'd have to register him before you can reg the calf. We had an nice unregged heifer a couple of years ago & the society said in order to reg her, we had to DNA the cow & reg her so we just didn't bother.

Feck, I don't know then. Check with the breed society would be your best bet.
