There was a second day also on Thursday with no Westbound OTS published.

I don't really get the advantage of this. Surely the flights are more constrained by takeoff and landing slots rather than their routing (at least for normal traffic levels)?

Like most things in life the answer is slightly complicated.
Simple version.
The aim is to give aircraft "their" optimum routing (level/speed) while they are flying on the North Atlantic.


Regarding constraints at the departure/arrival aerodromes that is a different matter.

Also bear in mind that even in "normal" traffic levels not that many aerodromes are actually slot constrained.
