Just curious as to see from peoples experiences if they ever got their money back on an extension they built after the sold on?

My house is a typical 3 bed semi and I am thinking of getting an single story extension to the rear but I am also considering saving for a few more years and maybe looking at actually buying a larger home.

Sort of impossible question to answer! Really all depends on the state of the property market (house price inflation or deflation) and then it's also very hard to factor in cost/payback for the enjoyment of your home!

Rarely to be honest ...for example an extension that may cost c 50-60k will never add the same value onto the price of the house over the neighboring unextended properties, it will bump it alright but not to the value of the works, unless you are doing the work yourself or something and the constructions costs are right down.
