I'd like some recommendations for the above please. Currently an off-black matt finish, though I'd prefer not to use this again as hasn't weathered very well, bits chipped off nearby windows etc.

I was thinking along the lines of a woodstain or other as used these before on some garden furniture, windows in the past and it lasted for years without needing a repaint. Having said that I did prepare them all fairly well, sanded down etc etc.

Not sure what's around at the minute so would appreciate any ideas, please.

So are you prepared to sand down to bare wood which is what required if thinking of a stain ?

Gosh no! And I need to get this done fairly quickly while we've a few good days!

So another good alternative? A gloss maybe. Apart from the odd bit flaked off, the rest, particularly the door itself is in s good condition, just looks somewhat jaded!

    Thanks for your response!

Colourtrend are my go to for such projects. Probably not the cheapest but knowledgeable staff and good products. We changed from a varnished door to a dolmen grey which is one of their signature colours. We were also doing a load of internal doors so got primer in same colour. Delighted with result. Front door holding up well.

Fleetwood are as good as colourtrend for a lot less in price. Their Advanced range is excellent. Colourtrend's PR dept should get a bonus. Great paint but worth 35% more???
