Cabin air filter air flow direction

Was changing my cabin air/pollen filter in the car and I'm confused about the air flow direction, the new filter has "Air flow" with an arrow pointing downwards printed on the side of the filter itself, but my car has a plastic cover that you press two tabs together to pull off so that you can access the filter, on this plastic cover is written "UP" with an upwards arrow. So I'm confused as to which way air flow direction is? Blower motor is positioned underneath the filter if that gives anything away that I haven't copped.

Depends on the layout but generally if it's in the glovebox the arrows go up facing the windscreen.

Have a look on Youtube for your make and model and it will have an example.

It is located behind the glove box, I have done that and see one video putting the filter in facing down and another facing up.

The arrow on the filter is for the airflow. Take the filter out, turn the fan on, and hold a piece of paper in the gap where the filter goes. That'll show you whether it's up or down.

That's okay thanks I followed Speedlines advice and the air is coming in from the top down so I've placed the filter in with air flow arrow facing down.

The "Up" on the plastic cover is just fitting instructions for the plastic cover.
