    Replacing or bridging Vodafone Gigabox:
Would love to get all input on this one.
I've an install scheduled of Vodafone Siro FTTH. I have seen mixed reviews of the Vodafone Gigabox router.

1 Are you unhappy with yours, Did you think of replacing or bridging it?
    If yes:

2 Did you replace it, Bridge it, or do nothing, and why?

    3 What did you use?

4 what result did you get, were you happy, (how much did it cost)?

    Thanks!

It's possible to replace it, you just need to use VLAN 10 and PPPoE with vodafone(at)vodafone.ie / broadband credentials.

Though gigabox has hardware offload for pppoe decoding so not every router would have the same throughput. Sadly Unifi Dream Machine Pro chokes on about 800 mbps.

I have a little EdgeRouter X which does have hardware offload and it eats the gigabit fiber whole.
Handles the VLAN too and a very flexible little device.

They're in stock at the unifi European store at the moment but usually sell out fast.
It's a lot of router for €50, but you'll need to give them another €12-15 for a power supply if you don't have something suitable.
