    Hi
Would anyone have a Leinster Area Contact for the installation or a Hydraulic Ram Pump on the farm

    Thanks

I’m looking to pump water from a good flowing stream to my farmyard located 100 metres away

It's head or height of water fall you need, more so than flow in the water.

Do you want one of the cast iron pumps or one made from modern components

The older cast iron pumps would drive the water to a greater height, the newer type, made from off the shelf plumbing parts would be less expensive. Green & Carter in Somerset, sell new and reconditioned cast iron ram pumps, I will put up pictures of both tomorrow

Are these a must now....I.e can not be letting cattle into a drinking pool..Must the tank be placed a distance from the stream too.

Does the air ever reduce in the cylinder

Hard to know but the water level in the cylinder would be above the upper bleed valve / radiator valve.

That's a Blake No1 Hydram in the pictures, it's a 5ft concrete pipe for a reservoir tank, the ram is fed through a 40 ft long, 1/1/4'' gunbarrell pipe, with 3-4 ft of a fall on the pipe

How high will it drive water

Don't know what it's limit is, but that was lifting water 100m high at one point, it's important to have a steel feed pipe if want to pump to a height.
