Things that would shock Oprah Winfrey

So Oprah was shocked that a bunch of OAP English toffs and their lackies would in anyway discriminate against a divorced african-american who was marrying the sixth in line to the throne.

So what else would require a momentary pause before cutting to an ad break?

    🙈🙉🙊

I'm not a fan of her but that's some conspiracy theory qanon lunacy that was doing the rounds six months ago.

That interview was more like a film. I wonder how many takes were done to capture their favourite Oprah Winfrey shocked ‘reaction’ to the incredible revelation.

    Load of ****e.

I'd say her biggest shock was when the network she started with a friend wasn't as popular as she thought it would be. Discovery owns most of it now and it has lost hundreds of millions of dollars.

I remember when they went from 5p to 6p and consequently having a debate with the oul fella to increase weekly pocket money from 10p to 12p.

There's little that shocks her, she does the 'jaw-drop' for purely dramatic effect, no other reason. Half that interview was staged. She knew the answers they would give in advance as the questions and answers had been agreed on in advance. She also did several cuts and takes after the interview to get facial and bodily reactions. But it makes for great TV for the advertisers and that's what they want at the end of the day.

Bill nails it as usual in a priceless 2 minute rant - worth watching just for Conan's reaction:

I'm only a young lad so the earliest I remember them was when they were 7p. And in particular, I remember the move from 7p to 8p and seeing a packet of each beside each other and thinking "What's going on in the world?!?!?". :D

Wow other cultures have their own traditions, hilarious. He sounds more like some village idiot propping up the bar all the day passing remarks to impress the other yokels than a prince

A bag of tayto's is over a euro now, Jesus christ!

Well she was shocked that she couldn’t grope a $38k bag in Zurich that time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 157 ✭✭Randle P. McMurphy

It might shock her to know some people don't buy in to the bs of victimhood spouted by two of the most privileged people on the planet. How Harry can't see what he has married and how he could throw his family under the bus like that is shocking to some too. The apple didn't fall far from the tree with that one.

I find Oprah is dead behind the eyes. She has all the hallmarks of someone who is sympathising. Head leaning on her hand, nodding knowingly, staring intensely. But if you look close enough you can see she's a million miles away in her head somewhere else.

Can you blame her though? The number of stories of trauma etc. she's heard she probably is desensitised to the whole thing.
