It's not long dead Atlantic 252. It's RTE 1 broadcast on 252 LW, the argument is that a significant number of mainly elderly emigrants still use this as a way of listening to RTE in Britain.

AFAIR the figure given before was that it cost RTE about €250k a year to keep the LW transmission going, so less than the salary of Tubbs or Dee Forbes.

Is it worth paying for? I don't know. Is it anywhere close to the worst waste of licence-payers money in RTE? No.

An unapologetic former British army paratrooper being an Irish senator in the first place is laughable, yet alone he tried to run for President after swearing an oath to serve the British queen

    He's an old union hack

Nothing new to gring to anything

He can pay for it, or they can get internet if they want to listen to RTÉ

Much prefer they saved DAB. It’s embarrassing that we are regressing whilst the whole world is switching/has to digital. 2RN needs to be taken under the remit of the Department of Communications and carriage fees abolished. Obviously we’d never attract half as many channels as freeview/freesat, but opening up the platform would attract some much needed competition in the market.

    some waffle off you
he is the only politician that has consistently fought for better conditions for our armed forces. But don't let your blinked view stop you

he offered to run against mickey d to stop a coronation of mickey d without contesting an election - to offer people a choice and democracy to function

    but yeah...boo him...the fiend
