2-in-1 laptop/tablet for college (mostly software development)

    Looking for a laptop/tablet with a keyboard and touch screen to use for college. Currently have a 2015 Macbook air but need Windows to code in .NET and it's also a nicer platform to run Java IDEs on (IMO).

    Was thinking of a Surface Pro 7 but have heard the battery is ****e on it, anyone have any other suggestions? Budget is circa 1000.
