Can you give me some more info?

Are they new wheels? What wheels are they? Is there much wear on the shimano hub? Are you based in Dublin?

Reason for the interrogation is that I have a pair of brand new f3r ffwd wheels dt Swiss 240 hubs but the free hub is campag, which I intend to swop out for shimano. So perhaps we could trade one for one? :)

Trade could work, if freehubs are compatable? My wheels are f6r and have ffwd hubs, not dtswiss.
    Im not in Dublin though.
    Dundalk
If compatable we could arrange something, postage or whatever

Right, I'm not sure how we can make it work. Unless you have some mechanical nous then it's just going to be the blind leading the blind. I have no experience of campag so I'm in no position to make any compatibility claims.

If you dont get sorted I have a set of DT 240 hubs with Shimano that I wouldnt mind swapping for Campy.

    Sorry for the thread hijack....

Assuming they are 11 speed, why not stick on the hub-appropriate cassette and ride it? Cassettes are fully compatible between Campag-Shimano at 11s and work seamlessly once your shifter/rear mech are matched to each other......

perhaps you are aware of this and just want the branding to 'match', regardless, in which case, just ignore me

My groupset is Campag, freehub Shimano. Currently has a 10 speed shimano cassette, and while it works ok, it could be better. According to research online, no compatability between shimano cassette/Campag groupset onna long term basis?

Yeah, that was a backup plan. 10 speed works ok but 11 speed is 100% compatible.

Anyway, listen guys, apologies but I should've said nothing. I wouldn't be confident in the trade not knowing what I'm doing. They're a brand new set of wheels and I'd rather just go to an expert and change new for new. Sorry all. If we weren't in lockdown and we could sort it out face to face it'd be different.
When I get it done I'll offer the campag hub on here.

Still a bit vague: if your group is 11s Campag, and the FFWD freehub will take an 11s Shimano cassette, you are good to go, just buy the 11s Shimano cassette. Otherwise, if the group is 10s (campag or Shim/sham) you are snookered.

    Groupset ; Campag 10 speed
Felreehub on ffwd wheel. :Shimano 11 speed

    Hi Lizzylad.

Did you get sorted in the end? If it's not too late for you, I'm bringing my bike into Bee Cycles today for a few jobs and one of them is to swop out the campag free hub for a Shimano one, so I'll have a brand new unused campag free hub lying idle.

Now, it may depend yet on exactly what your wheels are? Mine are FFWD F3R's and have the DT-Swiss 240s hub. I know FFWD also do wheels with their own brand FFWD hubs, which I imagine is a different freehub then as well.

Anyway, sure hit me back if you like.

I have that freehub now if you want it.

Don't think it's compatable with my wheels unfortunately. Mine have ffwd hubs so according to online research, I need a ffwd 3 pawl freehub?

Yeah I think you're right. Mine's the other one, the ratchet. No bother.
