Video Editing Laptop

Any recommendations for a laptop. Max 2k budget.

Mostly cutting on Premiere Pro/Da Vinci. I don't mind spending a few quid. I just don't want to be spending money on 500 cores and 4 million gigs of ram I don't need. Cutting mostly corporate videos. Nothing effects heavy. But would like to definitely know that I can cut 4K on it without any issues and also do the odd bit of after effects if needs be.

Obviously I'd like as powerful a laptop I can get but probably the main thing I'm looking for is colour accuracy.

Any ideas?

Also, is there a good time of year to be buying a new laptop? New ranges out? Older ranges on sale?

The new macbooks with the m1 chip have loads of benchmark reviews showcasing that their video editing capabilities are way ahead of any Intel machines.

the m1 is not way ahead of the 4800h with nvidia 2060 for video editing -

here is is versus the m1 - see multi-core which most programs especially video editing use

that's without taking the nvidia 2060 into account which will speed up video editing tasks further

it can go to 64gb ram if required

2 x 32 gb chips

but 16gb ram will do well for most editing tasks

it's also preferable to have the ram matched e.g. 8gb with 8gb etc

Bang for buck is great on the M1. I am using Resolve and it renders like a knife through butter. Benchmarks don't tell you everything and the M1 has cores to optomise things like video rendering plus Blackmagic released a ARM optimized version of Resolve.
