Bit of a weird one, but is it safe to plant a Crab apple tree in a field where cows are?

Are crabapples a choking hazard for livestock, or any other kind of danger?

You might do better to post in the Farming forum. I can't see myself that they would be, but I don't actually know.

Edit, quick google search suggests that the stem, leaves and seeds could be toxic - the apple flesh is not. The other parts contain cyanide.
