Burrito bars were the new thing about 7 years ago, they were replaced by doughnut shops.

Have they really come around again?

Chipotle is a type of Chilli

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

There's nothing more American than an American pronouncing Chipotle. I used to think it was pronounced CHIP OTLE as opposed to chipolé

Used to be a great Mexican restaurant on Swords main street near McDonald's... first time trying chilli ice cream. Place didn't last long cause it wasn't attracting customers. :(

I was in one in Minneapolis years ago. Mexican style fast food. The chain used to be majorly owned by McDonalds, but they divested in 2006. Haven’t noticed any mentions on SM, so I don’t know what that’s about.

It's exactly the same as Boojum.

Burritos n Blues in Ranelagh was booming when I lived over that way. That was about 14 years ago.

    Probably gone now.

Just another ****e "Mexican" fast food joint. Unfortunately we have nothing remotely close to the real deal in Ireland.

Yeah, we do. I guess you probably don't live in Dublin anyway.

I've had it in London, it's just another burrito place.

Lived my entire life in Dublin.

I've been to Mexico and had the real deal and I have Mexican friends in Dublin.

Let me guess.. you're going to use El Grito and/or Salsa as examples of proper Mexican food?

The London ones were particularly poor. I’ve eaten at them a number of times in the US and enjoyed them (for what they are). One of their bigger claims as compared to equivalent chain restaurants was that all food was prepared fresh on the premises from scratch, meaning using bags of whole onions and peppers as opposed to preprepated items which might have been vac packed days in advance. Likewise with the meat products which were prepared whole. They claimed this meant they employed quality cooks etc. Unfortunately it backfired in a number of food poisoning scandals which rocked their share price (which had been flying high bearing in mind how small the chain really was).

I'm with Mark on this one. I live in Dublin, and lived in Mexico. I've never had good Mexican food here. Maybe we have some decent Tex-Mex; I can't comment on that other than to say it's not the same thing.

    Please enlighten us.

Don't think anyone who has tried the real thing would agree with you but let us know these places .
