Does HRV stop smoke from neighbours stoves?

Just wondering how good hrv systems are at stopping smoke from coming into the house? In still winter days when people have their stoves light, the smell comes through my wall vents, would HRV stop that and if so what filters would work best for that? I heard of people using charcoal filters and others using hepa filters, but dont know which is better?

    Ha !

So you have that problem too then.

Its not just stoves, summer time brings barbecues

I'd guess a mid grade HEPA would do the trick.

Wonder how HRV would function with a HEPA in front of the inlet supply ?
