When do you take your supplements?

    Hi guys.

Do ye take them before, after, or during a meal?

Do ye take them all at breakfast or some at breakfast and others with lunch or dinner?

I've recently read a few articles (https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/best-time-to-take-vitamins, etc) on the best times to take fat-soluble & water-soluble vitamins - some say take water soluble vitamins (e.g. B's) on an empty stomach [30 minutes before food].

My routine for a good while now is to take my vitamin D with my breakfast and take my VEG1 multi & Omega3 with my dinner. I sometimes take an Omega3 at breakfast also.

I'm probably just overthinking all of this.

    Your thoughts?

    🤔

Water soluble vitamins like B12 with water, fat soluble vitamins like D taken with food. But that is just for maximal absorption, I wouldn't worry about it.

With vitamin and mineral supplements, it is best to follow the instructions on the supplement label, but generally speaking taking these with food is best because the stomach is already working on the food and so makes the supplement more easy to digest.

When supplementing an amino acid supplement, these are typically best absorbed in isolation, that is on an empty stomach, while taking plenty of water, and then wait one hour before taking anything else apart from water during that hour.

    I am not medically qualified.

Hi Robert. Are you referring to protein powders?
