Looking at umbilical systems, all in around the same price(getting a grant on the system), to do my own slurry around 3-4million gallons a year, looking at a 10meter dribble bar(single macerator) as it’s compliant in Ireland now when in deragation, 1300m of piping half 4” and half 5”, all supplying Bouer and doda pumps, cow slurry mostly lagoon and have 150hp for the pump, what are yer honest good and bad points on the Irish systems, I really don’t mind spending a few euros more but I want a good strong reliable outfit that won’t give me trouble and break my balls in ten years time,
Compressor will be hired for the moment
    Toughts?
Looking at slurrykat, agquip, slurry quip and mastek

Most slurry systems will break your balls by year 10 . All the contractors around here have the mastek setup . They seem to rate the Macerator highly

May need more hp on the pump if going to the end of the 1300m

Dribble bar grand for early spring and late autumn application and the extra width on it means easier turning on headlands. But after that trailing shoe is far superior April till September for grazing.

90% of slurry will be applied for April, earlier it’s out the better the utilisation

How does the umbilical system work with cow paddocks? must be an issue

All 8,10,12 acer paddocks no real issue

No issue here even with the most awkward twisty hilly 3 acre fields. Easier than dragging a tank around the place anyway.

Op, have you looked or posted on the forum4farming. Very good machinery related forum there & quite a few members dabble in contracting. Seem well informed on machinery matters.
