    Hi there,

My 2015 5 door golf had a pool of water in the rear passenger door golf has a pool of water in the rear passenger well.

Has anybody any experience of leaks in golfs? Getting quoted 500 to fix a seal in both doors by VW - anybody any experience of this and if this is reasonable?

    Cheers

Probably would get it done cheaper outside the dealer network but for a dealer it sounds about right.

The seal that fails seals around the speaker in the doors. The seal isn't available without buying the speaker itself. So for say two to three hours labour and two new speakers it sounds about right.

Some independent workshops will clean up the old speaker and bond it in with tiger seal or the likes which seems to work.

I had this same issue before with a MK7 and fixed it myself with a tube of Tec7.

Thanks folks... Car is out of warranty so i might just try it myself for the sake of a few hours and a tube of tec7 as the speakers still functional.

I really like the car shame that something silly as a speaker seal can let so much water into a car. My friend has a focus whose boot was flooded due to vents in the bumper or something... Crazy things to be happening in fairly recent cars!

Get yourself a trim removal kit and a packet of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N4TQ3ZG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_H3FAQTR4HFTSJ3R44RZ6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I just used clear silcon on my 162 golf, I didn't remove the speakers just sealed around them, no leaks since.
