Brexit delay moan

I got rid of my old t3 for a brand spanking new tikka t3 CTR. I ordered it over a year ago and i still don't even have a serial number to apply for a new license. It's all down to a delay on importing because of Brexit and this corone crap.

I just want to out shooting but is looking like I'll miss this summer too by the time i get the license and rifle.

    Sake.

I ordered my AI back in August and had it before Christmas. Came from the UK as well. Brexit or Covid can't be wholly to blame for the delay on your rifle. Seems completely unacceptable to me. Surely a phonecall is all that's needed for a serial number.

I'd question your gun dealer. Surely they could have gotten a serial number at some point in the last year.

I live near the gun dealer. I'd be in there two or three times a week . He said its because of the company that have tikka distribution rights haven't made a delivery in ages. He said the first post brexit delivery is on the way now so fingers crossed. He can't get the serial number until the rifle lands in Ireland.

Not doubting your gun dealer but dealers have often gotten me serial numbers before the guns were imported into Ireland.

I bought a CZ 457 LRP last week.
They phoned up and got me the serial number over the phone whilst I waited in the shop.
License application went in the same day.

Then IMO you should start finding another dealer that has the firearm you want in stock and ditch the dealer your dealing with now.

Ah, I know him well. As I said I live within sight of him. I know its wasn't his fault at all. I paid for most of it up front and have it all paid for at this stage. I find him brilliant to deal with so I'm not going to hold him to account for something beyond his control.

I wanted a brand new rifle to my preferences so I knew I might have to wait a bit. What I wanted wasn't available off the rack anywhere so its coming straight out of Finland. That was the initial delay, then brexit and covid hit and everything just seemed to stop.

Bought a tikka T1 before Christmas, was shocked to see how many my dealer had in stock. He reckoned that it was going to be a while before gmk got supplies running smoothly in 2021. Before Brexit, any special order tikka was talking ages

He is taking the wizz, i have had the serial numbers of Firearms coming out of Germany, by the time the guns had landed i had the licence. Get you deposit back and try elsewhere.

I bought a couple of tikka rifles that had to be ordered and Gmk the importers wouldn't give my dealer the serial numbers either so I think your dealer is telling the truth.
My mate was going to order a new sako that would also be a special order and he was told it would take at least a year to get it.
    Hopefully yours will arrive soon.

Yeah i have absolutely no doubt he's telling the truth. I know him very well. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He's fantastic to deal with. As i said, it's not his fault so i won't hold him to account over it.

It doesn't exactly give one confidence in buying a Tikka or Sako other than what the dealer has in stock already.

    Hope you get sorted soon.

If the dealer hasn't got it and gmk don't have it in stock either then be prepared for a long wait.
