Low water pressure

We recently had our bathroom renovated and the bath was taken out and replaced with a walk in shower. The original piping leading into the bathroom was the old 3/4 inch copper and this was replaced by 1/2 inch in the hot press where the bathroom water supply comes from. Since this work was done the water pressure both hot and cold in the bathroom wash hand basin and toilet cistern is really low. It there any sort of pump that can be added to boost the pressure, would something like a shower pump be suitable?
    Any advice appreciated.
