    Hi all
    I bought a Mercedes 180d last June it's a 191
The reason I'm on here is to look for advice
The car has been back in the garage 4 time since for little things
The reversing camera won't retract the reversing camera was stoping when you are reversing
The passenger window wouldn't go the whole way up when locking the car
The led display went completely blank
    The heated seats weren't working
The latest is there is some controller over the airbags broke or not working
It's currently down with the dealer getting sorted no timeframe on when it's back
The car is out of warranty in June with all the little niggles I'm having I don't expect them to stop in June can I expect the dealer to do anything when it's out of warranty or what can I do
I know these are all small niggly bits but every time it has to go on the computer to find and sort the problems and they're not going to do that for nothing
    Thanks

If you look at some of the reliability surveys, Mercedes - and indeed, a lot of other German cars - don't do so well.

E.G. The WhatCar survey: https://www.whatcar.com/news/2020-what-car-reliability-survey-family-cars/n20053. The older model A class comes in 4th whereas the newer one is 19th If you click onto the next page, you'll see the C-Class is also poor (last in table).

Its impossible to say if your issues were just teething ones and it will all settle down now. I guess you'd have to balance the potential cost of repairs outside of warranty Vs the depreciation you'll suffer if you move on to something new.

To hazard a guess, all of the above could possibly be related. A body control module, low battery, or loose wire could cause all of them.

Cameras, LCD displays and airbags are particularly sensitive to power interruptions. The window not going up the full way is a classic sign of low battery voltage as many cars monitor power to the window motor as a means to check if something is stuck. (low voltage = high current = motor stopping).

Do you drive mostly short journies or long? Have you left the car sitting for some time unused?
