Annoying potholes potential damage

Just out of curiosity, my route from work to home involves driving through city centre then drumcondra N1 out to M1 and there's quite few big annoying pot holes and uneven surfaces along the route.

In terms of my car's mechanical parts, what will be severely damage if you keep driving through those pot holes nearly every single day. I tried avoiding them as much as I could but sometimes I cannot due to traffic on the right hand side and bus lanes on the left side.

Background, Have 17 inch 5 month old front michelin tyres and rear bfgoodrich tyres (do not know how old they are but it came with the car upon purchase).

Do I need an off road tyres at this point?

What you need to do is report these pot holes and their locations - as regular as possible. The more complaints about as surface the quicker the road will be resurfaced / pot holes temp filled.

Dublin City Council 01 222 2222 - ask for roads maintenance.

Someone in the uk got their council to act by drawing huge cocks and balls around potholes in luminous paint.

Email them also as the council have a habit of not recording conversations etc when you ring them

Yes you need offroad tyres, I've got these on 17" rims and no issues with potholes..

Bit of advice that's stood me for years; when you see a hole go around it and not into it. Be grand.

You'd want a sump guard too, just to be sure.

Can be pretty difficult at times like along the Grand Canal who's entire surface is nothing but ruts, patches and potholes but one section heading west near the luas overpass in particularly bad. They dug that section of road (about 300m) probably two months ago for what I presume was pipe laying and put down the most appalling surface imaginable, lumps of tar patted with the back of a shovel, how that's acceptable by any council engineers I don't know.
