Combi boiler & back boiler

We currently have oil central heating. Boiler out in the garden, plus back boiler behind our stove in our sitting room. We like the back boiler as feel it's quite efficient way of keeping house warm in winter. Typically we'll run the oil heating for an hour or so to get rads warm, then light the fire which keeps the rads warm all evening.

However, we're currently renovating the house and switching from oil to gas. As part of this we're getting a combi boiler.

The plumber (who has been employed by our builder) is suggesting that the combination of back boiler and combi boiler is unnecessary, and that we should go with standalone combi boiler.

Is this the case, or is it sensible to run back boiler with combi boiler?
