    Gary Halpin passed away yesterday

Known later for his international rugby career where he represented Ireland in two world cups and played professionally for Leinster, London Irish and Harlequins. He taught in several schools in England before and after his pro rugby career and most recently had been head of boarding in Cistercian Roscrea

Represented Ireland in the hammer in 87 World Championships while a student on athletics scholarship in University of Manhattan

    R.I.P

Was it sudden or had Gary been ill?

An awful lot of players from that great 1995 RWC have passed too young.

    That's very sad. :(

I wasn't aware of his history as a hammer thrower.

I remember that try against the All Blacks like it was yesterday.

    Very sad.

    Quality hammer thrower Gary Halpin

Young man. Got fair bit stick for the giving the All Blacks the finger in the RWC 1995..
