Hi all, Q for you.. a v dear friend of mine died the other day.... i am heart broken... he died in his sleep.. we don't know why - but he had Epilepsy.. could that have been the cause? Could you die from a seizure in your sleep? They don't think he had a seizure as his bed clothes were not in disarray or anything.. a post mortem was done - guess we won't have the results for about 6 months.. I think - at the inquest. TIA

Sorry to hear your sad news.

Yes epilepsy can cause an un witnessed seizure.

Other things could have been their heart. Often sudden deaths are due to heart issues.

Wishing you all the best at this sad time.

so sorry for your loss, op.
we have a family member with epilepsy since childhood & have always been told that SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) is a concern.
This might be of some use to you. https://www.epilepsy.com/learn/early-death-and-sudep/sudep
