Raising a cavity block wall

    Hi all

Just wondering if it would be normal to raise the height of a cavity block wall by using solids on their side?

I want to raise the height of my shed by 18 inch with an apex roof so I can have a 8 ft room and some decent storage in the attic part.
I was thinking of going with 4 inch block on the flat above the cavity block and doing the same along the gable either diagonally or cut in to the gable to keep the block on the flat it's a 13ft x 24 ft shed I was planning for it to be an electronics workshop so heavy on insulation on the inside and between rafters laying 50mm on the existing slab and a screed over that. But the block on the gable is what's throwing me off would reinforced 3 inch angle on the ends help keep it all in place? Gables wont be load bearing if I were to lay them diagonally

Thanks in advance for the advice
