    Afternoon,

I am a bit lost on what car to go for next. Just sold my car and want to get something to replace it.

I am working from home full time so no big milage.

    Some asks

    Petrol or diesel or hybrid
    Tax under 1k
    Sleeper ish
Bigger than a hatch back. I am 6'6
    Auto
    Room for dog

    Roof rack compatible

    Under 10k

I have been looking at the following

    Is250
    Volvo xc70 d5 and xc90 d5
    Passat cc
    A6 avant

As you can see I am all over the place

    Any idea fully welcome

As a dog owner (2 labradors) I'm going to discount the Lexus, I have a saloon a6 and my next car is definitely not a saloon. Estate or suv, probably estate a6. Your budget of 10k.is keeping the cars in your list pretty old, you like your expensive models. Look at some other estates maybe. Or find best a6 avant you can afford.

I am coming from a 2016 6 series and was totally useless for the dog as she was not allowed near it.

Just saw a 2011 c220 estate in the park and looked great.

I'd get something decent enough coming from a 6 series, I presume it was a 640d? If you're sticking to your 10 grand you're probably back in 2011 or so. If you went e class or a6 or 5 series estates it wouldn't be much of an inferior cabin to your 6 series. Down on power alright but they all launched new models around 2011 to 2012 so will be more or less same generation as yours.

yea it was a 640d, i am not really that concerned on the loss in power, it would be nice but the function is really more important, nice spacious cabin, with decent quality switchgear.

How are Mercedes of the 2010 / 2011 era ?

As far as I know the bad rep from the 2000s was sorted by then. Just general cheapening of internals happened in the 00s but the seem to be back on their game since.

Lexus rx400h post 08 ones are €1200 to tax

You'd get one for near half your budget.
Might be a bit too old?

The first of the newer cheap tax rx450h's are still priced up around €15k or more in general

What are they like ? Anything to look out for ? Few 2008 rx400h sitting on donedeal a while, insuppose the 1200 tax would scare most away.

Are they wallowy to drive ?

Pretty numb to drive but nice seats and they're quick in a straight line.

Reliable, decent spec and decent enough on fuel. Any battery issues are handy enough to get sorted should they crop up.

And would they be a nicer place to be than xc90?

I'd have one over an xc90.

Although a fully loaded xc90 is a grand place to be as well.
