Looking to get a new laptop, doing a lot of research and I'm getting a bit bamboozled with all the latest specs.

Getting into a bit of digital art with a Wacom drawing tablet and I want to get a decent laptop to hook it up to and edit, etc my drawings.

Ideally I'd like something with the following, however I can't seem to find anything with that spec as when I think I have and I dig into it in more detail the screen might only be 45% NTSC.

i7+ CPU
512GB+ SSD
8GB+ RAM
72% NTSC Screen
2.0 Webcam
2GB+ Dedicated GPU
Tunderbolt 3.0

Am I looking for too much wrt to a budget of up to €1200?

2k resolution 100% sRGB screen

doesn't have thunderbolt

4600h is more powerful than the i7 h cpus

webcam has an unusual angle

ssd is a little smaller but enough if you don't store unnecessary stuff on laptop, use cloud storage, external etc

also the igpu of the 4600h would be comparable to a 2gb mx250 card

if you'd like a bigger screen there is the 16 inch magicbook pro

same 4600h cpu

or you could look at something like the dell 7000 14 series

a good bit more expensive though

the 11th gen intels on the i5 and i7 have good gpu capabilities built in - as good as mx350

What's the difference between usb-c and thunderbolt? Also some thunderbolt connections don't support external display, how do you keep and eye on this other than digging deep into the spec?

thunderbolt is basically just a faster usb-c connection

usually only really needed for external graphics cards

there will be a display out from hdmi anyways

usually another is possible over usb-c or even plain usb but yes - need to research whether video out is possible on the other usb ports

to be honest the matebook 14 will meet all your needs and has very good build quality and a colour-accurate screen

it's more powerful than the intel cpus in the dell
