We have gone sale agreed on a house at the end of last year and have just gotten Contracts in the last few weeks, which has brough to light a few issues- firstly there has been no planning identified (its more than 7 years there) on an adjacent small building which was turned into a living space and 2. There is a query if the rental tax (pre 2014) was also paid,, does anyone know will these take long to resolve or is it best to move on and abandon ?? Thanks

Would need a little more detail on this to be able to comment.

Your second item is more a Revenue/solicitor matter.

Its basically a 3 storey building with the ground floor converted from storage/garage empty space to living area. There was no planning for this to be a living space and is self contained. It has been there for more than the 7 years from planning perspective. Just wondering will this be an issue or should we just abandon the sale

So what's the "adjacent small building" you mentioned ?

The ground floor conversion might be ok but that has nothing to do with the 7 years you mentioned

Total NPPR tax and late payment fee is over €7000 and if it had not been paid remains as a charge on the house. If there is no receipt of payment or certificate of exemption when you buy the house you will owe this to revenue.
