Laptop fixing- shop around?

I brought a laptop into get fixed in one of the computer repair shops. He said he would have a look at it to see what is wrong with it and give me a ring. He rang me today and quoted me €150 for repair. I had bought a laptop in this shop a few years ago and the battery didn't last long at all on it. Just wondering should I…
