Can someone please let me know if it is hard for a seller to provide proof to the buyer that item has been sented.

It depends how they sent it. If it was sent by standard post there is no way of tracking it. The only "proof" would be a receipt for stamps but it wouldn't show where the item was being sent to.

If it's coming from outside Ireland and sent by standard mail, it could take a few weeks to arrive.

Within Ireland it should only 1-2 days, but allow 7 days.

As above, if sent standard post there's no tracking or proof.

If the item was tracked, no the proof is not hard to get, tracking number would be supplied to the seller.

If item is bought through PayPal or Visa and the buyer needs to reclaim the funds due to the item never arriving, a tracking number is all that would be accepted by PayPal or Visa

Last time I checked you could get a certificate of postage from the post office. Drop the item to a PO counter and the clerk may be able to give you a dated cert with the address of the item, thus proving something was posted to the addressee.

Yea the postage certificate is free, you can also make a claim if it doesn't arrive, it's covered for about €20 iirc.
