What information are you hoping to glean from this operation? Are you a PI?

It won't matter what someone experience someone else has had.

It's how YOU deal with the situation if stopped.

You can read the current restrictions here

Look at the title of the post - just a bit of fun.

Going to view a jeep 120km away does not constitute an essential journey and I am sure you would be told to go straight back where you came from, but that's entirely your decision.

I was stopped with my brother and two kids going to look at a van, he needed it for his business, there was no problem, Guard had a bit of crack with the kids in the back, he said I suppose it's an essential journey, I said it was to him and off we went.

It will all depend on the guard that you meet I travelled outside my 5km came to checkpoint when I was driving on my own and guard asked if was having a good day I said I was and he said enjoy it and let me on my way.

He didn't ask where I was going or where I was coming from. I went through another checkpoint and the guard asked where I was coming from I gave him my reason and I was allowed to carry on unimpeded.

I'd say this would fall under the "I don't like the look a this fella now" rule, where it depends totally on the Guard who stops you.
I'd say if you are someone who has an "essential" job like construction or farming, and you tell them you need it for work, then they'd leave you at it.

    The travel restrictions are currently
    • travel to and from work, where work involves providing an essential service
    • teachers, SNAs and other school staff will be allowed to travel to school to facilitate distance learning
    • to attend medical appointments and collect medicines and other health products
    • travel to attend disability day services
    • travel to attend a court
    • for vital family reasons, such as providing care to children, elderly or vulnerable people, and in particular for those who live alone, but excluding social family visits
    • for food shopping
    • for farming purposes (food production or care of animals)
    • to attend a wedding or funeral
    • to visit a grave
All measures in Level 5 will stay in place until at least 5 March 2021.

Travel to view cars and maybe buy isn't essential but I suspect you know that already.
If you choose to break restrictions and get stopped then it's on you.
