    Hi all as title suggests whats the recommendation on the timing belt interval on a mk7 golf 1.6 tdi engine... cheers

    I thinks it's in the range of 100k miles. Have a look at your owners manual if it's there or ring a VW dealer and they'll let you know.

    They have a ‘life time’ timing belt, so the interval could be as high as 140,000 miles. I’d check with your local dealer to make sure yours is definitely a life time belt

    Its 210k kms, no age limit.

    Yes, I was told 160k miles or 4 years, whichever the earlier.


    Also are any timing belts designed for the lifetime of an engine? As far as I know that’s just for some chains?
