Manufacturer of part avoiding reimbursement of leaking part?

Good old vw golf 1.4 as fitted a full brand new kit and pump failed due to what they said was over use of sealant causing failure of pump and leaking out of drain hole WTF?

When i not used sealant it leaked:pac::pac:

I had a claim in for e163.48 and is now rejected and wonder has anybody had the same and we had no issues in replacing pump and coolant.

Better to mention not dealer brand but factors well known brand.

Did they take it back and then come up with the sealant comment. You would imagine you would have to go nuts with sealant to cause such an issue.

Yes it was returned same day i got replacement with an invoice of parts labour and vat and only received word today 4 1/2 months later
rejecting the claim and i was not happy.Got chatting to a few mates and they also agreed bull**** as they also had ones fail after 1 week and wonder if they are going to be left high and dry.

I rang vw parts for a chat and they said that model has the tiny rubber seal in the channel and non grip so would need sealant to hold and seal it.

Bloody annoyed as did the replacement with no issues and coming out of our pockets.

Someone did mention to speak to the head guy to express your grievance from a parts supplier.
