Any tricks to remedy a bad wall plug in a solid wall?

Say you took a hammer drill and 6mm masonry bit and put a hole in a solid wall.
But during the back and forth to get the bit deep enough, the hole must have got a bit wider because now the 6mm wall plug plastic piece is too loose.

Is there some little trick to fix this like squeeze in a bit of construction glue or something clever?

It won't be supporting something heavy.

jam a bit of cardboard or wood into the hole along with the wall plug.

edit: but if you are not in a hurry then construction glue also works. Fill the hole with the glue and jam in the plug. Wait for it to set before screwing into it.

    Use an 8mm plug?

Go old school. Cut a piece of wood into a pointed dowel that's bigger than the hole, and drive it in with a hammer. Trim off any excess. Screw into the wood - it won't budge.

Depending on what you’re fixing you could screw the screw part way into the plug, expanding the wings before pushing it into the hole.

wrap some insulation tape around the plug and stick it in the hole

Put a condom on the plug it will definitely make it bigger.
