    Hi,

I've narrowed my shortlist based on the advice in here to the following panels. Budget is up to €1k, TV is mainly going to be used for watching Netflix/Movies etc in the sitting room, minimal gaming if any at all. Currently using a 49" Sony Bravia about 4-5 years old (not 4K) so any step up will be impressive hopefully. I haven't seen either the Nanocell LGs or the Sonys recently so not sure which is the superior TV. I probably won't be connecting to a soundbar so decent quality sound is important and I'd favour the android TV interface of Sony (currently running an Nvidia shield TV to the Sony so am familiar with the layout). Can you take a look and give an opinion? Ideally would like to get the TV early next week so probably not interested in waiting if stock isn't available.

    LG Nano 866 - priced at €829

    Sony XH9005 - priced at €989

    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204740-sony-kd55xh9005bu-55-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-led-android-tv-youview.aspx

The other 2 I was looking at greedily are slightly out of the price range, the LG55BX and the Sony XH9505 (coming in at €1,169 and €1,249 respectively) but I'm not sure I can justify the price difference, heard the sound isn't great on the BX and the Sony maybe doesn't have enough of a difference from the 9005 to justify the few hundred extra......any opinion welcomed!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi robbe,

    Thanks for the post!

The NANO866 and the Sony 9005 would be two of the better 55" TVs to go for! The OLED55BX6 would be my first choice as nothing would come close to the picture quality. It is on the more expensive side but it has a fantastic panel and a great smart hub!

Between the Sony and the LG though I would say the Sony would take the lead as it does have the Android operating system and also a fantastic picture with great motion processing and contrast:

    Kind regards

    David

Thanks for coming back to me David,

I eventually decided to opt for the Sony XH9505......on balance I justified the extra few hundred to myself on the basis that I'll be staring at it for the next few years! Ordered yesterday afternoon and a few mins ago had a knock on the door and TV was delivered! Fabulous customer service and thanks for your assistance and speed of delivery. Will set it up in the next few days.

    Many thanks
