Moving to vintage Tax VLC query

    Hi all, my MX-5 has finally hit 30 years old. So I sent off Form RF111 last week. The car is currently declared SORD.
    Motortax.ie shows the status as "VLC awaiting issue" since last Thursday.
    I'm guessing the VLC is generated by taxing the car ( the same as any car I've imported previously).
    If I look for a PIN to tax the car I'm told it cannot be taxed online.
    If I try the last 6 digits of the chassis no. I'm told it's an invalid number.


    Has anybody else changed from "modern tax" to Vintage while their car was declared SORD......and how did you manage to get a VLC ?
